2. General information on data processing

We process users’ personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. Personal data is regularly processed only with the user’s consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or where processing is permitted by law, in particular for the performance or initiation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or to safeguard legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Provision of the website / server log files

When you visit this website, our hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits. This comprises: IP address, date and time of the request, content of the request (specific page), access status/HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, website from which the request originates (referrer URL), browser, operating system and its interface. This data cannot be assigned to specific persons and is evaluated solely for the secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

This website is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 44 Montgomery Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, USA). Netlify processes the access data mentioned above on our behalf as a processor. Where data is transferred to the USA in this context, we rely on the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses or – where certified – the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website does not use Google Analytics or any marketing or tracking cookies. The only thing used is a cookie consent tool (Klaro, self-hosted, with no connection to external servers), which stores your choice regarding the embedded YouTube videos (cookie name “unyco-consent”). This cookie is technically necessary to store your decision and is set on the basis of § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. In addition, a “yt-consent” note is stored in the browser (localStorage) in case the consent tool should exceptionally fail to load.

5. Embedded YouTube videos

On some pages we embed videos from the YouTube platform (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; parent company Google LLC, USA). We use the privacy-enhanced mode via the domain youtube-nocookie.com.

Important: the videos are not loaded automatically when the page is opened. A connection to Google’s servers is only established and the video loaded once you actively click a video thumbnail and give your consent via the cookie notice that appears. In doing so, your IP address and information about your device and browser may be transmitted to Google and, where applicable, combined there with other data over which we have no influence. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw or adjust your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of this page.

6. Fonts

This website uses the fonts “Lato” and “Open Sans”. The font files are included locally on our own server or with the hosting provider (self-hosting). There is no connection to Google Fonts or other external font services; no data is therefore transmitted to third parties when the fonts are loaded.

7. Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form or the phone number/e-mail address on this page, your details (name, business, e-mail address, phone number, enquiry, message and an optionally attached floor plan in PDF format) are stored by us to process the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The contact form on this page is technically processed via the form service of our hosting provider Netlify (Netlify, Inc., see the hosting information above) and forwarded to us; Netlify processes this information as our processor. An optionally uploaded floor plan is used solely to prepare the requested layout proposal and is not used for any other purpose. We delete this data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

8. Storage period

For security reasons (e.g. to investigate cases of misuse), server log files are stored for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted or anonymised. Consent to the YouTube videos is stored via the consent cookie for up to 12 months.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to the personal data concerning you: right of access, right to rectification or erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to object to processing, right to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

We will update this privacy policy whenever the technical implementation or the legal situation changes. The version current at the time of your visit applies in each case.
